Mexico is defined by its natural beauty. It is the home to beautiful lagoons, the second-largest barrier coral reef in the world, time-warped colonial towns, white powder sand beaches and turquoise warm waters.
It also offers so many wonderful and exciting things to the traveler such as fabulous food, Mexican crafts, water-parks, an array of flora and fauna and, of course, the ancient Mayan ruins.
A seaside community, Cancun is Mexico’s most visited tourist destination. There is a myriad of things to do such as swimming, snorkeling, diving, sea kayaking, fishing, sailing, canoeing, jet skiing, swimming with dolphins or simply relaxing by the sea.
For diving/snorkeling enthusiasts, close to Cancun there is the Great Mayan Reef, which is the largest coral reef in the Western Hemisphere. It is the home of abundant marine life, coral gardens and the watery graves of ancient ship ruins. The crystal clear waters provide an exceptional view of these underwater treasures.
If water activities are not your preference, there is also golf, tennis, shopping, listening to Mariachi bands and sightseeing. Cancun has a few small Mayan ruin sites, which are used as decorations for golf courses. However, there are Mayan tours available to various ruin sites near Cancun such as: Chichen Itza, Ek Balam, Coba, Xel-Ha and Tulum.
Mexico is a traveler's paradise. Come and partake of its pleasures.
